Meetings

Listed below are the CHEAGD regular meetings. Schedule and location information will be updated as it becomes available.

New Members Meeting:

This meeting is an informal gathering usually held the first week of September. The goal of this meeting is to welcome new members, to give an introduction and overview of CHEAGD and its activities and events, to offer some resource materials to new homeschoolers, to answer questions, and to enjoy a time of fellowship. Returning members are encouraged to attend and help welcome the new members.
Scheduled for:
In North Durham, we will meet at 6:30pm on September 1st in the North Regional Library.
In South Durham, we will meet at 6:30pm on September 8th at Paul & Ethel Gould's house (3914 Springstop Lane, Durham 27705).
Please choose ONE of these meetings to attend and contact the CHEAGD Chair to RSVP, if possible.

Kick-off Meeting:

This is the biggest meeting of the year for CHEAGD, and all member families are strongly encouraged to have at least one parent attend. This is usually held the second week of September. During this meeting, we recognize previous leaders and welcome the leaders for the coming year. Leaders and coordinators go over the planned activities and events for the year and provide opportunities for members to volunteer or sign-up for these activities. It is a time to meet together for fellowship, worship, and to lift up in prayer our families, our homeschools, our support group, homeschooling, and other needs.
Scheduled for: Saturday, September 17th, 2011, 6:30pm-8:30pm, at Bethany Hills Baptist Church.

Keep-In-Touch (KIT) Meeting:

This is another important meeting for CHEAGD, and all member families are strongly encouraged to have at least one parent attend. It is usually held the second week of January. One of the purposes of this meeting is to evaluate the first half of the year and to go over activities and events planned for the second half of the year. During this meeting there is plenty of opportunity to meet and socialize with other members both at the beginning and end of the meeting. Leaders will share about important homeschooling issues in our region, state, nation, and world and share about other opportunities that might be of interest to homeschoolers. There will be a time of prayer to lift up our families, our homeschools, our support group, homeschooling, and other needs.
Scheduled for: Saturday, January 19th, 2012, time TBA, at Bethany Hills Baptist Church.
